MAKING ONE OF BRITAIN’S LEADING SCIENCE FACILITIES MORE SECURE

Set in 700 acres of countryside, our client’s Science and Innovation Campus is home to a confederation of leading science and technology bodies from government, academia and industry. It’s a high-tech ecosystem that’s pioneering advances in space sciences, health tech, clean energy and quantum computing.

After a spate of minor incidents, our client recognised that they needed to upgrade their security. Following a personal recommendation, they appointed Knight Protection.

Knight Protection always provides threat and risk assessments, and here we followed this up with a strategy and list of priorities for the campus, an exercise that even considered a hypothetical attack on a local BT exchange.

Our 5-year plan for the park involved establishing a monitored CCTV and ANPR cameras system to track all human and vehicle movements. This is now supported by a wi-fi mesh – a secure network – which Knight Protection is installing.

But what about physical patrols? The client’s previous security providers had offered only sporadic night-time patrolling, but the client accepted that a permanent overnight security presence was required. Knight Protection instigated manned patrols, a service that’s now been extended to 24/7.

We’re strong believers in your security fitting in sensitively with your individual circumstances, buildings and location, and your corporate culture. (At the campus, an eco-friendly park, we’re now using an EV for our manned patrols.)

Our approach is always to work in partnership with our clients, creating a long-term, trusted relationship. We’ve even been known to help with first aid, and the occasional puncture!

WE’RE MAKING THE CAMPUS’ 200+ ORGANISATIONS, £3BN OF SCIENTIFIC INFRASTRUCTURE, AND 6000+ SCIENTISTS, ENGINEERS AND INNOVATORS MORE SECURE ON THOSE 700 ACRES.

However large or sensitive your security needs, why not get in touch to find out how we can help you?
